The Undergraduate Certificate in Climate Science provides you with a rigorous foundation in the physical science of Earth\u2019s climate systems. Through a combination of lectures, labs, fieldwork, predictive modeling, data analysis and statistical methods, students will explore key components of the climate system, including atmospheric processes, the carbon and hydrological cycles, and the relationship between the cryosphere and sea level. The interactions of these systems with human activities is emphasized.<\/p>\n

You will benefit from a close-knit learning environment where faculty know you by name while working alongside world-class researchers on projects supported by NASA, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the National Science Foundation. Our faculty conduct research worldwide – from the Alaska Arctic Tundra to Antarctica – and bring these real-world insights into your courses.<\/p>\n

This certificate complements majors in environmental science, sustainability, geography, and related fields. It prepares you for entry-level roles in climate resilience planning, environmental policy, hazard mitigation, or nonprofit advocacy.
