The Department of Art & Design is delighted to announce the Integrative Studio II Student-Led Exhibition for the Spring 2025 semester. The exhibition will be presented in Finley Gallery & the adjoining Annex Galleries from February 25th through March 4th, with an opening reception on February 25th from 2:30pm until 4:30pm.<\/p>\n
The ISII exhibition is the culmination of a six-week journey shared by visual arts majors across three sections of Integrative Studio II led by Professors Jess Blaustein, Simone Couto, and Genevieve Lowe. Using the pi\u00f1ata as a shared starting point of their investigation, the artists delved deeply into the subject to expand their understanding of its history, materiality, and cultural significance. Building on this initial research, they created artworks across media exploring a range of ideas including construction, deconstruction, regeneration, and transformation. The artists themselves collectively organized this public sharing of their work\u2014together they met the challenge of presenting a visual throughline within the shared gallery spaces while still highlighting the unique voices of each class, as reflected by the three exhibition subtitles: Ruin to Resurrection, Metamorphosis, and Interwoven Realities<\/p>\n
