{"id":18895,"date":"2018-04-26T12:51:17","date_gmt":"2018-04-26T16:51:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/news\/article.php?ArticleID=18895"},"modified":"2018-04-26T12:51:17","modified_gmt":"2018-04-26T16:51:17","slug":"18895_2018-cento-amici-scholarships-awarded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/arts\/2018\/04\/26\/18895_2018-cento-amici-scholarships-awarded\/","title":{"rendered":"2018 Cento Amici Scholarships Awarded"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Thanks to the generosity of <a href=\"http:\/\/centoamici.org\/%20\" target=\"_blank\">Cento Amici<\/a> (translation:100 Friends), a community-based organization dedicated to supporting education in New Jersey, 12 College of the Arts\u2019 students were awarded scholarships and recognized at the organization\u2019s 30th Annual \u201cMeet the Scholarship Recipients\u201d Dinner on April 13 in Warren, NJ.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>Robert Zito<strong>, <\/strong>president of Cento Amici<strong>, <\/strong>welcomed<strong> <\/strong>the organization\u2019s members and their guests, along with student scholarship recipients from several academic institutions including Montclair State\u2019s College of the Arts. Special guest, military and corporate leader Joseph J. Grano gave an inspirational talk and awarded to the students an autographed copy of his book <em>You Can\u2019t Predict a Hero: From War to Wall Street, Leading in Times of Crisis<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis event is always a highlight of the year for our members,\u201d said Robert Zito, the founding president of Cento Amici. \u201cThe opportunity to meet the students, who are selected by their schools to receive our scholarships, is a great reminder of why we work to support funding these scholarships.&nbsp; They are truly tomorrow\u2019s leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The College of the Arts is grateful to have been chosen as a beneficiary institution of Cento Amici.
