Anabella Poland<\/a>, General Manager of ÌÇÐÄvlog\u2019s 90.3 WMSC-FM<\/a>, was recently named President of College Broadcasters, Inc. (CBI)<\/a>, a member-driven organization serving students and advisers of college and high school electronic media outlets. Poland was originally elected to the volunteer position last year and was scheduled to begin serving her term in May, but a recent change in the organization\u2019s bylaws allowed her to start the position this semester.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an honor to serve in this position and lead an organization that is so important to current and future communication and media students,\u201d Poland said. \u201cI\u2019m grateful for the opportunity and look forward to advocating for my students at Montclair State and all over the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

Under Poland\u2019s leadership, WMSC has earned several national awards, including \u201cBest College Radio Station\u201d and \u201cThe Spirit of College Radio Award,\u201d as well as four prestigious NAB Marconi Award nominations. In October 2022, WMSC earned three national awards from CBI, including first-place honors for \u201cBest Audio Special Broadcast\u201d and \u201cBest Audio Promo.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2016, Poland was awarded the \u201cMeaningful Impact Award\u201d at ÌÇÐÄvlog\u2019s Professing Excellence Awards; in 2019, she received the Jeff Tellis Outstanding Advisor Award which is presented to one advisor in the country to note outstanding leadership, dedication, and service, and in 2021, Poland earned the Joel Willer Award in recognition of exceptional dedication and service to student electronic media.<\/p>\n

Before joining ÌÇÐÄvlog nearly eight years ago, Poland was the Director of Talent & Industry Relations at SiriusXM. Before that, she was a Segment Producer at ABC\u2019s News Good Morning America<\/em>. Her work has appeared on ABC World News<\/em>, 20\/20<\/em>, and Nightline<\/em>, and she also contributed stories to abcnews.com and to the first network initiative aimed at Hispanic audiences, ABC News Exclusiva.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
