So do we! The Student Recreation Center is looking for motivated students with a passion for developing leadership skills, networking, and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. View all job postings and apply on Handshake by clicking the button below and logging in with your Montclair NetID.<\/h3>\n<p class=\"prpl-button-row\"><span class=\"prpl-button white\"><a href=\"https:\/\/app.joinhandshake.com\/e\/841701\/jobs\">Join The Team<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<blockquote class=\"white\"><p>General Requirements<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>All Student Leaders must meet the following criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You must be a ÌÇÐÄvlog student for the Fall 2026 semester, be available to work weekdays, weekends, and shifts in general between the times of 5:45 &#8211; 12:00 a.m. and you must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 while being in good academic standing.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"red\"><p>Job Descriptions<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Facilities<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>Clean fitness equipment and machines and restock supplies.<\/li>\n<li>Pick up weights and other equipment left out and re-stack appropriately.<\/li>\n<li>Enforce policies with patrons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Aquatics<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain a current Red Cross Lifeguard certification.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work at three different pools on campus.<\/li>\n<li>Attend all in-service training sessions and employee meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Be alert, professional and helpful to patrons.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in planning and implementing special event programs in the pool.<\/li>\n<li>Potential opportunities to receive advanced certifications such as Water Safety Instructor, CPR Instructor and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Looking for summer work? We are hiring! We are looking for qualified lifeguards to work at our pools either part-time or full-time. Full-time staff will receive FREE housing in the Village Apartments for the summer!<\/p>\n<p>Not yet certified? We can train you! Certification is FREE for summer staff.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/app.joinhandshake.com\/emp\/jobs\/9760359\">Apply here.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Intramural Sports<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<h3><strong>Sports Official\/Scorekeeper:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Enforce Intramural policies with participants while maintaining professionalism.<\/li>\n<li>Officiate\/score keep Intramural Sports games to ensure a safe and fun atmosphere.<\/li>\n<li>Market\/promote Intramural Sports and events to the campus community.<\/li>\n<li>Attend sport clinics and trainings to learn sport rules and policies.<\/li>\n<li>Be available to work nights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Fitness<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<h3><strong>Group Fitness Instructor:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Instruct and lead group fitness classes with attendance up to 50 participants per class in a safe, motivating and engaging environment.<\/li>\n<li>Set up and break down equipment for classes.<\/li>\n<li>Promote group fitness classes to the campus community.<\/li>\n<li>Potential opportunities to learn other class formats and receive advanced certifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please Note:<\/strong> Group Fitness Certification is required prior to beginning employment from ACE, ACSM, AFAA or equivalent. Specialty certifications are accepted on a departmental needs basis in addition to the Group Fitness Certification requirement.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Personal Trainer:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Create individualized fitness programs for clients to achieve their goals.<\/li>\n<li>Perform services such as fitness assessments, body compositions, flexibility training, conduct individual fitness consultations and equipment orientations.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with planning and implementing fitness special event programs.<\/li>\n<li>Flexible work schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities to receive advanced certifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please Note:<\/strong> Personal Training Certification is required prior to beginning employment from ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA or equivalent.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Hawk on Wheels Rental Technician:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Review online bicycle reservation requests and assign bike to client.<\/li>\n<li>Inspect bicycles when renting and returning for normal wear and tear or damaged\/missing components.<\/li>\n<li>Receive training to perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs to the bicycle fleet.<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity for flexible work schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Marketing<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<h3><strong>Graphic Designer:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Create posters, web graphics, banners and any other promotional materials for the events that the Student Recreation Center hosts.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Must be familiar with Adobe Illustrator. Other knowledge of Adobe programs is a plus (After Effects, Photoshop etc.).<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Be able to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Work closely with Social Media Specialists for any Social Media promotions\/campaigns.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Web Developer:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Implement\/edit all text, graphics, and video content on the Campus Recreation webpage via WordPress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Update and maintain Campus Rec Mobile App utilizing HTML and CSS.<\/li>\n<li>Post Campus Recreation events on Engage, University Calendar, and Google Calendar<\/li>\n<li>Upload video and image files on Four Winds Platform<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Communicate with various departments about website and app specifications and input.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Social Media Specialist:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Run and maintain all social media platforms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram posts to market events and programs.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Create and implement new ideas to boost engagement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Must have strong writing and editing skills, experience with writing Marketing and PR blurbs is a plus.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Create and Implement new marketing strategies, campaigns\/promotions and giveaways.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Photography\/Videography:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Be familiar with DSLR cameras and editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Lightroom.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Photographers are required to photograph events as well as edit and upload the pictures to our social media platforms.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Videographers are responsible for filming and editing promotional commercials for events and programs.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">May work as a photographer, videographer or both depending on area of specialization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<h3>Check out this video about the Student Recreation Center and see why you should work here!<\/h3>\n<p><iframe title=\"Video: Student Recreation Center - We&amp;#039;re Not Just a Gym\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/s-r-1_K5-kg?feature=oembed\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen style=\"width: 500px; height: 281px; border: 0px solid #000;\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Campus Recreation Student Leaders Want to help make a difference on this campus?
