We offer academic, career and personal support services to non-traditional adult learners throughout their college experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements to be an Adult Learner<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>25 &#8211; 64 years old<\/li>\n<li>Possess a high school degree or GED<\/li>\n<li>Pursuing an undergraduate degree<\/li>\n<li>Can be either a Freshman or Transfer student<\/li>\n<li>Have not been enrolled in a college or university for at least two years<\/li>\n<li>Not pursuing the Nursing program<\/li>\n<li>Understands that GNED 100 &#8211; Adult Success Seminar &#8211; is a mandatory graduation requirement course that all Adult Learners MUST enroll in their first semester.<\/li>\n<li>Attend an Orientation specifically assigned by the Adult Learning Program Advisor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Senior Citizen Program<\/h2>\n<p>ÌÇÐÄvlog offers New Jersey residents who are age 65 or older the opportunity to take classes for their own personal enrichment. Classes are audit only and cannot be taken for credit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Process<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If interested in auditing <strong>undergraduate<\/strong> courses, use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/admissions\/apply-and-check-status\/how-to-apply\/adult-student-applicants\/\">Undergraduate Non-Degree application<\/a> (scroll to the bottom to the Senior Citizen Application), indicating your interest in the Senior Citizen Program during the application process.<\/li>\n<li>If interested in auditing <strong>graduate<\/strong> courses, use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/graduate\/how-to-apply\/non-degree-and-visiting-students\/\">The Graduate School Non-Degree application<\/a>, selecting Non-Degree as your program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participants must complete a new application each term to participate.<\/p>\n<p>If looking to <strong>pursue a degree<\/strong>, you will need to apply to the University through the normal admissions process and will be responsible for full tuition and fees.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about the application process, please contact Undergraduate Admissions at <a href=\"mailto:msu-adm@montclair.edu\">msuadm@montclair.edu<\/a> or Graduate Admissions at <a href=\"mailto:graduate@montclair.edu\">graduate@montclair.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Senior Citizen Program Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Registration takes place on the first day of classes<\/li>\n<li>Only courses offered during the fall and\/or spring terms are available to participating senior citizen auditors<\/li>\n<li>Tuition is waived however, participants are responsible for all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/tuition-and-fees\/\">fees<\/a> including, but not limited to, mandatory, student, and program fees<\/li>\n<li>Cost of textbooks, materials, and other course related fees are not included in this program<\/li>\n<li>Participants may audit two classes, for a total a 6 credits each term<\/li>\n<li>Senior citizen auditors may audit classes with the permission of the instructor and\/or department<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please use the <a href=\"http:\/\/catalog.montclair.edu\/coursesaz\/\">course catalog<\/a> to gain a better understanding of the types of courses offered at the University.\u00a0 You will have access to the specific course offerings in a specific term after you have been admitted to the University.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about Montclair\u2019s Senior Citizen Program, please email <a href=\"mailto:seniorcitizen@montclair.edu\">seniorcitizen@montclair.edu<\/a> or call the Center for Academic Success &amp; Tutoring (CAST) at (973) 655-5425.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adult Learning Program Program Overview and Cost The Adult Learning Program is dedicated to lifelong learning, specifically for students who are returning to the classroom after being out of school for some time.
