Dawn Marie Hayes, associate professor in the Department of History, has been selected to receive the 2018 Summer Fellowship by the . It is to support work on her second monograph, Roger II of Sicily: Strategies of Identity and Power in the Twelfth-Century Mediterranean World.
Hayes is a historian of medieval Europe and her research interests include the social, religious and cultural history of the period, especially in the twelfth-century Mediterranean world. She is the author of Body and Sacred Place in Medieval Europe, 1100-1389: Interpreting the Case of Chartres Cathedral (Taylor & Francis, 2003). Hayes is also working on a digital humanities project documenting the .
