Williams, assistant professor in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/chss\/justice-studies\/\">Department of Justice Studies<\/a>, received two awards during the annual meeting of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. He received a dedicated service award and&nbsp; the Rosemary L. Gido Research Honorum from the Minority and Women\u2019s Section of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Williams is an activist scholar and his research focuses on critical policing, race, social control, and criminal justice policy. He is currently conducting on-the-ground critical ethnographic research in Ferguson, Missouri and Baltimore, Maryland following the deaths of Michael Brown and Freddie Gray.<\/p>\n<p> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/chss\/justice-studies\/\" target=\"_blank\">More on the Department of Justice Studies<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jason M.
