Williams, assistant professor in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/chss\/justice-studies\/\">Department of Justice Studies<\/a>, received the New Scholar Award at the American Society of Criminology conference this year.&nbsp;&nbsp;The American Society of Criminology is an international organization whose members pursue scholarly, scientific, and professional knowledge concerning the measurement, etiology, consequences, prevention, control, and treatment of crime and delinquency.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Williams is an activist scholar and his research focuses on critical policing, race, social control, and criminal justice policy.
