ÌÇÐÄvlog, Film Program Lise Raven is an award-winning filmmaker who enjoys making both narrative and documentary films. Raven\u2019s first feature film, LOW, screened in over 30 international film festivals. In 1995 she helped to found the SLAMDANCE FILM FESTIVAL, after which she wrote and directed three films for the SHOWTIME Cable network. In 2000 Raven moved to Berlin, Germany after being awarded the DAAD Berliner K\u00fcnstlerprogramm Artist Residency in Film. While in Europe, Raven\u2019s feature film project, Snipe, was funded by the Irish Film Board. In 2011 she worked with the Philadelphia Museum of Art to create a short video which screened in the ROBERTO CAPUCCI: ART INTO FASHION exhibition. KINDERWALD is the second part of THE KINDERWALD TRILOGY, a trilogy of films that are inspired by fairy tales about children lost in the woods. The first film, KINDERWALD: Neighbors, was shot in 2011. Raven is an Assistant Professor at Drexel University, in the Department of Cinema and Television. Director Paul Lovelace and Jessica Wolfson present their film\u00a0Radio Unnameable.<\/em>\u00a0 Legendary radio personality\u00a0Bob Fass<\/strong>\u00a0revolutionized late night FM radio by serving as a cultural hub for music, politics and audience participation for nearly 50 years. Long before today\u2019s innovations in social media, Fass utilized the airwaves for mobilization encouraging luminaries and ordinary listeners to talk openly and take the program in surprising directions.\u00a0Radio Unnameable\u00a0<\/em>is a visual and aural collage that pulls from Bob Fass\u2019s immense archive of audio from his program, film, photographs, and video that has been sitting dormant until now.\u00a0 The Film Directors and Bob Fass will be in attendance. Hartley\u2019s most recent film,\u00a0Meanwhile<\/em>, featured at the 2012 Viennale, was released worldwide in 2012 through his own online sales and distribution channel, www.possiblefilms.com and, simultaneously, on iTunes.<\/p>\n His other films include:\u00a0Simple Men<\/em>\u00a0(Official Selection at Cannes in 1992),\u00a0Flirt<\/em>\u00a0(which opened Sundance in 1997),\u00a0The Book of Life<\/em>\u00a0(1998), and\u00a0No Such Thing<\/em>\u00a0(also, premiered at Cannes in 2001).<\/p>\n He has won awards at the Sundance Film Festival for his film\u00a0Trust<\/em>\u00a0in 1991, the Tokyo International Film Festival for\u00a0Amateur<\/em>\u00a0in 1994, the Cannes International Film Festival for\u00a0Henry Fool<\/em>\u00a0in 1998, and the \u201cPremi Noves Visions\u201d award at the Sitges International Film Festival in Spain for\u00a0The Girl from Monday<\/em>\u00a0in 2005.<\/p>\n There have been retrospectives of his work in Rotterdam, New York, Spain, Norway, Korea, Argentina, and Poland.<\/p>\n Co-sponsored by the Film Program and the Montclair Film Festival. Pola Rapaport has been involved in the film industry as a writer, sound editor, director and producer for over 20 years. Her work includes these films:\u00a0Hair: Let the Sun Shine In<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(2007), a celebration of the revolutionary hippie musical Hair, Rapaport\u2019s work spans the boundaries between fiction and documentary,\u00a0\u00a0Writer of O<\/strong><\/em>, a docudrama about the secretive author of the erotic novel\u00a0Story of O<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(2005);\u00a0Family Secret<\/strong><\/em>, the story of the discovery of her long-lost secret\u00a0Romanian brother<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(2000), have been screened at world-wide festivals.<\/p>\n Wolfgang\u00a0<\/strong>has worked as a director of photography for narrative feature films and documentaries since the mid-90s. Most recently, he traveled the country filming the mockumentary Br\u00fcno with Sacha Baron Cohen. In 2008, his work on\u00a0Carrier<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0earned him an Emmy for Best Cinematography. His other credits include\u00a0Metallica: Some Kind of Monster<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(2004),\u00a0Mad Hot Ballroom<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(2005).<\/p>\n Walden Media specializes in entertainment for the whole family. Past award-winning films include: \u201cThe Chronicles of Narnia\u201d series, \u201cJourney to the Center of the Earth,\u201d \u201cNim\u2019s Island,\u201d \u201cCharlotte\u2019s Web\u201d and the Sundance Audience Prize Winning documentary \u201cWaiting for \u2018Superman.\u2019\u201d Upcoming films include the family adventure \u201cJourney 2: The Mysterious Island,\u201d drama \u201cWon\u2019t Back Down,\u201d Jay Moriarity biopic \u201cOf Men and Mavericks\u201d and the family comedy \u201cParental Guidance.\u201d<\/p>\n A Special Evening with Paula Kerger,\u00a0President and CEO, PBS An Evening Fireside Chat and Q & A with Paula and Merrill.<\/p>\n 7:30 \u2013 9pm<\/strong>\u00a0at Jed Leshowitz Recital Hall Hilary Brougher earned a BFA in Film from the School of Visual Arts\u00a0(1990) and was a fellow at the Sundance screenwriting and directing\u00a0labs in 2001. She is currently a member of the Directing Faculty at\u00a0Columbia University’s MFA Film Program.<\/p>\n Her most recent film\u00a0INNOCENCE<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(in post production) was adapted\u00a0from the novel of the same name by Jane Mendelsohn, and was produced\u00a0by Killer Films and Ron Curtis. It stars Kelly Reilly, Sophie Curtis,\u00a0and Linus Roache. Her first feature,\u00a0THE STICKY FINGERS OF TIME<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0was an\u00a0official selection at the 1997 Venice, Rotterdam, and Toronto\u00a0International Film Festivals, and was released theatrically in the\u00a0U.S. in 1997.\u00a0 Her second feature,\u00a0STEPHANIE DALEY\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(2007) starred\u00a0Tilda Swinton and Amber Tamblyn. The film premiered at the 2006\u00a0Sundance Film Festival where Hilary won the Waldo Salt Award for\u00a0Screenwriting. The film was also awarded Best Director at the Milan\u00a0International Film Festival.<\/p>\n THE IRAN JOB<\/strong>\u00a0follows American basketball player\u00a0Kevin Sheppard\u00a0<\/strong>as he accepts a job to play in Iran.<\/p>\n
