ÌÇÐÄvlog\u2019s radio station 90.3 WMSC-FM won eight Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) Awards on Saturday, February 25, including three first place awards and five finalist awards.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The three first place awards are:<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The five finalist awards are:<\/span><\/p>\n Jared Tauber, Film and Television Major (class of ’25), is WMSC\u2019s music director. He is the host and producer of WMSC Unplugged, a live music show highlighting local talent. One of the show’s highlights was having The Happy Fits band on the program. “<\/span>Them being on our show signified a major leap for the music team at WMSC, kickstarting the current incarnation of WMSC Unplugged \u2014 our biggest ongoing project\u201d said Tauber. \u201cIt\u2019s an honor to be recognized by IBS this way; I\u2019m so proud of my team and what we\u2019ve been able to accomplish this year. Long live LIVE MUSIC.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n JT Bethea, whose reporting on students protesting due to a rise of sexual assault cases, was flattered by the award. <\/span>\u201cI’m incredibly honored,\u201d Bethea said. \u201cIt’s never the mission to win an award but to produce quality work.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Senior film major Sabrina Hajsok was filming her thesis film, and was not present at the ceremony. Station Manager Ben Petruk accepted the Best Business Manager award\u00a0 on her behalf.\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cI am so honored to have received the award for IBS\u2019s Best Business Director. I would like to thank Anabella Poland and the team for inspiring me and pushing me to be better every single day,\u201d Hajsok said.<\/span><\/p>\n About the School of Communication and Media:<\/strong><\/p>\n Founded in 2012, the School of Communication and Media offers a range of dynamic programs in communication and media to a talented and diverse student population of over 1,700.
