The computer science curriculum prepares students to design and implement software, to consider new ways to use computers, to assist in improving solutions to computer problems, and generally helps students to adapt to new ideas. The primary mission of this degree is to train students in core Data Science competencies and expose students to a broad range of Data Science related topics and applications, preparing them to be part of the next generation Data Science workforce.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/academics\/programs\/bs-computer-science\/\">BS in Computer Science<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/academics\/programs\/ms-data-science\/\">MS in Data Science<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Application Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>If you are a prospective Freshman or Transfer applicant, learn more about admission criteria <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/admissions\/apply-and-check-status\/admissions-requirements\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Students with a GPA of 3&period;0 or above<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>Application Deadline: Rolling admission<\/li>\n<li>Students will be sent an expedited application from Graduate Admissions to complete<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Students with a GPA below 3&period;0<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p>Students with a GPA below a 3.0 are not eligible for admission to a Combined Program and will need to <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/graduate\/how-to-apply\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"c-link\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/graduate\/how-to-apply\/\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\" data-remove-tab-index=\"true\">submit a traditional application<\/a>\u00a0to their\u00a0<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/graduate\/programs-of-study\/#\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"c-link\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/graduate\/programs-of-study\/#\/\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\" data-remove-tab-index=\"true\">graduate program of interest<\/a>.
