The purpose of the award is to provide travel support to new investigators who have completed a doctoral degree (or post-doc training or residency) within the past five years. Applicants with appointments in academic programs should be at junior faculty levels (e.g., instructor, assistant professor).&nbsp; The primary aims of the American Auditory Society<\/span><span>&nbsp;are to increase knowledge and understanding of the ear, hearing and balance; disorders of the ear, hearing, and balance, and preventions of these disorders; and habilitation and rehabilitation of individuals with hearing and balance dysfunction. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span>Dr. Scheperle joined the faculty in the Doctoral Program in Audiology in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the Fall of 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rachel Scheperle, PhD, CCC-A received a New Investigator Travel Award, funded by the American Auditory Society.
