She is using NASA and other remote sensing data to inform her research and aid in the development of a model that describes the likely behavior of mangrove ecosystems under rapid climate change.\u00a0The NASA fellowship\u00a0was\u00a0designed to support independently conceived research or senior designed projects by highly qualified graduate students, in disciplines needed to help advance NASA\u2019s missions, affording students the opportunity to directly contribute to advancements in STEM-related areas.
