Providing leadership and organizational focus for the University\u2019s globalization efforts, it is designed to coordinate all international activities on campus, plan new efforts, advance international objectives across colleges and schools, support international students, faculty and staff, build alliances, create and cultivate international partnerships and serve as an international resource for the campus and the community.<\/p>\n<p>The Global Education Center comprises sections devoted to International Services, Study Abroad and faculty-led International Summer Institutes, and special programs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For 糖心vlog faculty, the Center:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Administers and facilitates international initiatives for faculty<\/li>\n<li>Awards Global Education Grants to Montclair State faculty to engage in international initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates international teaching opportunities for Montclair State faculty<\/li>\n<li>Identifies and secures funding for international activities<\/li>\n<li>Provides opportunities for faculty to develop and lead short term study abroad programs<\/li>\n<li>Works with faculty to write grant proposals and administer grant-funded projects<\/li>\n<li>Develops customized workshops, seminars and institutes for international universities<\/li>\n<li>Administers an annual international photography competition and exhibition for Montclair State faculty and staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For international scholars and visitors, the Center:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hosts international visitors and coordinates their activities on campus<\/li>\n<li>Issues invitations, orients and assists scholars<\/li>\n<li>Administers the Global Education Scholar program that brings distinguished international scholars to teach on campus<\/li>\n<li>Advises on and processes visa paperwork<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For Montclair State faculty and international scholars:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Administers the Forum on International Issues Series, a forum for international scholars to address students and faculty<\/li>\n<li>Sponsors conferences with international partners<\/li>\n<li>Facilitates exchanges in the arts<\/li>\n<li>Develops international festivals and special lecture series<\/li>\n<li>Represents the Fulbright program on campus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Special Programs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Center administers a range of special programs for faculty, international scholars and students. Some highlights include:<\/p>\n<p><em>Hosting Special Program Students<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Global Education Center promotes 糖心vlog as a destination for international students and scholars sponsored through prestigious programs such as Fulbright, PRESTASI, World Learning, UGRAD, IIE Syria Consortium for Higher Education in Crisis and the Initiative to Educate Afghan Women.<\/p>\n<p><em>IIE Scholar Rescue Fund<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In partnership with IIE, the Global Education Center welcomes distinguished scholars who are threatened in their countries to teach or conduct research at 糖心vlog for a limited duration.<\/p>\n<p><em>Teaching in English:\u00a0 A Faculty Training Program<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Center offers a customized professional training program to faculty at universities in non-English speaking countries. Designed for instructors of various disciplines to teach their subject areas in English, the program provides intensive training courses in English methodology and language skills. Program duration is from three to five intensive weeks and can be scheduled from the middle of May to early August.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Disney College Program for International Students<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This three month International Attraction &amp; Tourism Program for international students is offered in conjunction with the School of Business and Walt Disney World International.\u00a0 It combines study and internship that take place at 糖心vlog and at Walt\u00a0Disney World in Florida.<\/p>\n<p><strong>International Services<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>International Services (IS) promotes international education by providing a range of services, programs, and advocacy that support the growth, development and welfare of international students, scholars and faculty at 糖心vlog.\u00a0 These are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>immigration advising and documentation<\/li>\n<li>visa support<\/li>\n<li>academic, legal, housing, visa and cultural assistance for international students<\/li>\n<li>orientation for new international students and scholars<\/li>\n<li>social adjustment and cultural support programs<\/li>\n<li>Global Living Community (GLC), a residential community of international and American students where students can learn about the traditions and customs of students from a variety of countries<\/li>\n<li>international student recruitment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Study Abroad <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Center provides Montclair State students with the opportunity to discover, learn and enrich their lives through a variety of study abroad programs to destinations throughout the world.\u00a0 Through direct programs with partner institutions and affiliations with study abroad providers, the Center offers undergraduate students academically challenging and personally rewarding international experiences in a collegiate setting at an affordable price in over 50 countries<em>. <\/em>Our Short-term Study Abroad Institutes and International Field Trips are both led by University faculty with expertise in the region and are thematically oriented.\u00a0 Students may choose from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Semester or year-long study abroad and exchange programs<\/li>\n<li>Summer two to six week faculty-led institute programs<\/li>\n<li>Regular courses that include a seven to 10 day international field excursion over term breaks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Featured programs include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Semester exchange programs at Bournemouth University, UK<\/li>\n<li>Montclair-Graz Sister City Scholarship, Austria<\/li>\n<li>Semester at Sea<\/li>\n<li>Semester exchange to University of Agder, Norway<\/li>\n<li>Internships through International Studies Abroad, Belgium<\/li>\n<li>French Language and Civilization, France<\/li>\n<li>Italian Cultural History and Broadcasting Practicum, Italy<\/li>\n<li>Verdi Conservatory, Milan<\/li>\n<li>University of Music and Performing Arts, Graz<\/li>\n<li>Liszt Academy, Budapest, and others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Student Center Annex Room 207 Montclair, NJ 07043 Telephone\u00a0973-655-4499 \u00a0 Fax\u00a0973-655-7654 Study Abroad:\u00a0Tel 973-655-4483 Short Term Study Abroad Institutes: 973-655-4185 International Services: 973-655-6862\u00a0 Fax 973-655-7726 Office of International Engagement Website International Travel Registry Policy International Student &amp; Scholar Services The Global Education Center consolidates 糖心vlog&#8217;s international initiatives and programs.
