{"id":475,"date":"2019-05-16T13:24:27","date_gmt":"2019-05-16T13:24:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/forward-thinking\/?page_id=475"},"modified":"2019-05-16T13:27:48","modified_gmt":"2019-05-16T13:27:48","slug":"university-debuts-research-portal","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/forward-thinking\/spring-2019\/university-debuts-research-portal\/","title":{"rendered":"University Debuts Research Portal"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_477\" class=\"responsive-image-holder wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"mlt-responsive-image\" data-original-image=\"\/forward-thinking\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2019\/05\/Screen-Shot-2019-04-22-at-4.25.13-PM.jpg\" src=\"\/responsive-media\/cache\/forward-thinking\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2019\/05\/Screen-Shot-2019-04-22-at-4.25.13-PM.jpg.0.1x.generic.jpg\" alt=\"Montclair State\u2019s research portal shows its global collaboration at researchwith.montclair.edu.\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Montclair State\u2019s research portal shows its global collaboration at researchwith.montclair.edu.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>As part of its partnership with Research with New Jersey, ÌÇÐÄvlog\u2019s online research portal, Research with Montclair, debuted in early 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThe portal gives visitors a quick look at the state, national and international impact of the University\u2019s outstanding research efforts,\u201d says Vice Provost for Research and Dean of The Graduate School <strong>Scott Herness<\/strong>. \u201cIt is also an efficient way for entrepreneurs to connect with the cutting-edge research breakthroughs that can lead to the creation of new products and bolster the state\u2019s reputation as a national leader in innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The portal includes an interactive map that shows the extent of the University\u2019s collaborative research reach as well as abstracts of published works and researcher biographical information.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe portal is also an efficient way for entrepreneurs to connect with the cutting-edge research breakthroughs that can lead to the creation of new products and bolster the state\u2019s reputation as a national leader in innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n<footer><cite>Scott Herness<\/cite><\/footer>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">Montclair State is among six leading New Jersey universities contributing to Research with NJ, a scientific database launched in 2018 by Governor Phil Murphy to foster scientific collaboration and support the continued development of New Jersey\u2019s innovation economy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">While the Research with Montclair portal showcases University research and researchers, it also links to the research produced at Rutgers University, Princeton University, the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Rowan University and Stevens Institute of Technology, which are all part of the Research with NJ program.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Research is critical to the mission of the University, which has just recently earned the designation of R2 Doctoral University \u2014 High Research Activity \u2014 in the most recent reclassification by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.
