Graduate & Doctoral Assistantships provide students with valuable professional experience while supporting their academic goals. Roles may include teaching, research, or administrative responsibilities. Assistants receive tuition remission and\/or a stipend as part of their appointment.<\/p>\n
The Graduate School’s Micro-Internship Program offers short-term, project-based opportunities that help students build professional experience, explore career paths, and apply what they\u2019re learning in the classroom. Projects are developed in partnership with departments across Montclair.<\/p>\n
Alpha Epsilon Lambda (AEL) recognizes graduate students for excellence in scholarship and leadership. Students who have completed at least 18 graduate credits and have GPAs in the top 20% of their school or college are invited to join. Invitations are sent once each semester. Students can also apply to serve as President of Montclair’s AEL chapter.<\/p>\n
Through the Student Research & Conference Travel Fund Awards, The Graduate School provides modest funding to support professional development activities, including conference presentations or travel related to research. Funding is available to students enrolled in degree programs for the current academic year.<\/p>\n
The Graduate School is excited to offer graduate students the opportunity to ideate, design, and execute their own events and programming for the graduate community. Through the Graduate Student Event Proposal Fund, students can propose workshops, trainings, orientations, networking events, or special programs to be offered by or co-sponsored by The Graduate School.<\/p>\n
The Graduate Council is the University\u2019s advisory body for graduate policies, student initiatives, and curriculum review \u2014 and each college has a dedicated graduate student representative. Student representatives are elected with Dean approval and serve as key partners in advancing graduate student priorities. These representatives serve as the voice of their peers, offering insight into the graduate student experience and helping shape University-wide discussions.<\/p>\n
