The College of Education and Human Services has established the new program which began in Summer 2019.

The Master of Science in is the only program of its kind in New Jersey and provides students with the skill set to excel inan interdisciplinary field concerned with the statistical and rule-based modeling of natural language from a computational perspective as well as the study of computational approaches to linguistic questions.

The Master of Arts in is a dynamic program that trains students to use qualitative and quantitative data to develop evidence-based solutions to real world problems that companies and organizations face every day.Students will gain valuable skills in primary and secondary data analysis, such as engaging in survey research, interviews and focus groups, data and text mining, and analyzing data.

The goal of the Master of Science in is to train students on a broad range of security related topics with hands-on experience, preparing them to meet the growing demand for Cybersecurity professionals in industry, academia and government agencies. In addition, students will have a unique opportunity of doing research on related security projects.

The program is uniquely positioned to accommodate professionals from diverse academic backgrounds and provide a broader coverage of Cybersecurity topics with computational as well as legal and ethical training. This approach will address demands in both technical and managerial fields of Cybersecurity.

The Master of Science in provides students with foundational abilities in applied mathematics as well as in-depth specialized knowledge and skills in support of their specific goals. This program prepares students for a variety of career goals, including employment in a wide range of industries and further study in a doctoral program. This program will be very useful to extend the development of secondary school teachers who wish to develop competencies in these increasingly exciting areas of mathematics.

Students seeking careers in industry and research that uses quantitative methods, as well as in education, will find this program beneficial to their professional development. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 33% growth in jobs in mathematics between 2016 and 2026 (”much faster than the national average of 7%”), with an MS degree as the typical entry-level degree.
