  {"id":1896,"date":"2018-02-05T15:47:10","date_gmt":"2018-02-05T20:47:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/information-technology\/?page_id=1896"},"modified":"2026-03-23T12:47:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T16:47:11","slug":"virtual-computing-lab","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/information-technology\/virtual-computing-lab\/","title":{"rendered":"Virtual Computing Lab"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>All Enrolled Students are granted access to the Virtual Student Desktop via Omnissa Horizon virtual desktop infrastructure.<\/h2>\n<h2>What is Omnissa Horizon?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p2\">Omnissa Horizon, formerly known as VMWare Horizon, is a virtual desktop and software delivery environment that allows users to access computer programs without the need of installing them on a local hard drive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"> A list of available applications on the Virtual Student Desktop can be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/information-technology\/public-computing-labs\/deployed-software\/\">Deployed Software<\/a> section.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To access the Virtual Student Desktop through Omnissa Horizon, please go to <a href=\"https:\/\/vdi.montclair.edu\">https:\/\/vdi.montclair.edu\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Enter your NetID (ex.<em> lastnamef1)<\/em> and password on the Montclair login screen. Complete your authentication to access the Omnissa Horizon dashboard.<\/li>\n<li>When logged in, navigate to the &#8220;Apps&#8221; section to view a list of all available virtual desktops.
