All Zoom cloud recordings created in Canvas are automatically moved to Panopto Recordings<\/em>.\u00a0Panopto Recordings<\/em>\u00a0is an option available in all Canvas courses, however it may be disabled from the course navigation menu. If you do not see\u00a0Panopto Recordings<\/em>, check out the Canvas Guide\u00a0How do I manage Course Navigation Links<\/a>\u00a0to learn how to enable it.<\/p>\n

If you wish to hide your Canvas Zoom Cloud recordings from students, you have 3 options:<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Option 1: Change the permissions of the course folder to hide content from students<\/div>

  • Click on\u00a0Panopto Recordings<\/strong>\u00a0in the Canvas course menu.<\/li>\n
  • Check that the course folder is selected. If not, click the dropdown arrow to select it.<\/li>\n
  • Click on\u00a0Settings<\/strong>\u00a0in the top right corner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    a. Click on\u00a0Share<\/strong>\u00a0from the left menu.
    \nb. Under\u00a0Who has access<\/strong>, click on the \u201cx\u201d next to the option \u201cCoursename: Viewer\u201d\u2026. \u201cCan view<\/em>\u201d to remove student viewing access of that course folder.<\/p>\n

    Option 2: Create a new folder and move Zoom cloud recordings from the course folder into the new folder<\/div>
    \n

    c. Click on Create<\/strong>\u00a0and click on\u00a0New Folder.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    d. Enter a name for the new folder.
    \ne. Deselect the option \u201cInherit permissions from the parent folder<\/em>\u201d.
    \nf. Click\u00a0Create Folder.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Move cloud Zoom recordings to the new folder.
    \n<\/strong>a. Hover your mouse over the recording and click on\u00a0Settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    b. Click\u00a0Edit<\/strong>\u00a0in the Folder section.<\/p>\n

    c. Select the new folder from the dropdown menu and click\u00a0Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Option 3: Share a recording in a hidden folder with a student<\/div>
    \n

    a. Hover your mouse over the recording and click on\u00a0Share<\/strong>.
    \nb. Under\u00a0Invite people<\/strong>\u00a0type the name of the individual you wish to share the recording with and click on their MSU email account.
    \nc. Ensure\u00a0Notify people via email<\/em>\u00a0is selected.
    \nd. Click\u00a0Send and save changes<\/strong>.
    \ne. Individual(s) will be notified that a video has been shared with them.<\/p>\n
