Instructional Technology and Design Services (ITDS) and the Summer Session Office <\/span>invite you to participate in a half-day, online faculty development event to help you get ready for the summer semester. Both new and experienced faculty are encouraged to attend to learn about important changes and modifications to Canvas, including the introduction of New Quizzes, as well as other new instructional technologies to promote student engagement, innovative teaching practices, and more!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Responding to Artificial Intelligence with Effective Instructional Design<\/b>
\nGenerative artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot have exploded in popularity and pose many questions in higher education related to academic integrity and authenticity of work produced by our students. This workshop empowers faculty with an overview of AI text generators, assessment design approaches for mitigating misuse, considerations on leveraging these tools to enhance learning activities, and developing an AI policy for your summer courses.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\nCreate videos using Panopto which is an easy-to-use video platform that provides screencasting, lecture capture, and video content management. In this session, you will learn how to get started in Panopto record\/upload lectures, build informative or summative assessments, and share them with your students in Canvas.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Get Ready for Canvas New Quizzes<\/b>
\nNew Quizzes is the new quiz tool now available in Canvas. New Quizzes allows for new question types, additional quiz setting options, and enhanced student performance analytics. In this session you will learn about the new quiz options (Hot Spot, Categorization, and Stimulus questions) and the differences between our current quiz tool and New Quizzes.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
