The Artist Vision Project<\/strong> is a cross-curricular initiative for rising juniors, seniors, and graduate students preparing recital requirements. It encourages students to design non-traditional performances that reflect their broader artistic identity, blending music with storytelling, multimedia, and cross-disciplinary ideas.<\/p>\n During her residency, Leyla McCalla<\/strong> will mentor AVP students by:<\/p>\n Leading workshops on weaving history, culture, and identity into performance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Offering feedback on recital concepts and helping refine artistic vision.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Sharing her experience as a multilingual musician and activist to inspire new approaches.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Through these interactions, students will learn to craft recital projects that are deeply personal, innovative, and socially connected.<\/p>\n To work with Leyla McCalla, please complete this form.<\/a><\/p>\n This opportunity is open to:<\/p>\n Students registering for a degree-required recital in Academic Year 2025\u20132026.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Students who want to get a one-year head start on their degree-required recital for Spring 2027.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Students planning a non-degree required recital off campus.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n To schedule a meeting with\u00a0Leyla McCalla<\/strong>\u00a0about the\u00a0Artist Vision Program<\/strong>\u00a0click\u00a0here.<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n As part of the Immersive Residency 23-24, <\/span>Lara Downes<\/strong>, pianist and host of NPR\u2019s Amplify, led a small group of students during the inaugural year of the Artist Vision Project at the Cali School of Music. \u00a0 Here are two success stories from spring of 2024.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
