However, we still have a collection of print reserves materials as many print books, particularly textbooks, are not for sale to libraries as e-books, even if they are available to individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Whenever possible, the Library encourages instructors to assign materials already freely available online or licensed through the <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/montclair.on.worldcat.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">library catalog<\/a>\u00a0to help minimize Montclair students\u2019 textbook expenses. Sprague Librarians can assist instructors in locating textbook alternatives from both existing library e-resources and <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/montclair.libguides.com\/oer\" target=\"_blank\">open educational resources<\/a> (OER), and Access Services staff can assist with scanning and placing limited selections of physical material held by the library or provided by instructors through electronic reserves into your Canvas course.<\/p>\n<p>Questions about Course Reserves should be directed as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For general questions about Course Reserves, write to <a href=\"mailto:circreserves@montclair.edu\">circreserves@montclair.edu<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>To submit a course reserves request, instructors should fill out the <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/montclair.libwizard.com\/f\/reserves2020\" target=\"_blank\">Course Reserves Request form<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>To submit a request to purchase a book or an e-book, instructors should fill out the <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/montclair.co1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_dmq9bGF9QxGhQkC\" target=\"_blank\">Book Request form<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>To submit a request to purchase a media title, instructors should fill out the <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/montclair.co1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_bfPqBXgbBsGdsCW\" target=\"_blank\">Multimedia \/ Streaming Video Request<\/a> form.<\/li>\n<li>For assistance finding textbook alternatives, contact the appropriate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/library\/about-the-library\/liaison-librarians\/\">liaison librarian<\/a> or contact our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/library\/research-help\/ask-a-librarian\/\">Ask a Librarian service<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional information about Sprague Library Course Reserves is available through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/library\/services-and-spaces\/reserves\/\">Course Reserves page<\/a> on the library website and the <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/montclair.libanswers.com\/search\/?t=0&amp;q=reserves\" target=\"_blank\">library reserves FAQ<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Making course materials (including textbooks, book chapters, articles, videos, and more) available for free through the library&#8217;s course reserves collections is wonderfully convenient, and it can help ease any financial strain that students might be facing.
