This game-changing policy guidance, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/08-2022-OSTP-Public-Access-Memo.pdf\">Ensuring Free, Immediate, and Equitable Access to Federally Funded Research<\/a>\u201d mandates that US research agencies update their public access policies as soon as possible to make publications and research funded by taxpayers publicly accessible, without an embargo or cost.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, please <a href=\"https:\/\/sparcopen.us12.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=4064bb120160868770a7b5a76&amp;id=942d1d3d87&amp;e=a4c0031ec5\">RSVP<\/a> to attend a briefing by Chris Marcum, Assistant Director for Open Science and Data Policy at the White House Office of Science &amp; Technology Policy. This briefing is exclusive to members of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heliosopen.org\/\">HELIOS<\/a> (Higher Education Leadership Initiative for Open Scholarship), a cohort of more than 80 colleges and universities committed to collective action to advance open scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>Update: the briefing will take place on Tuesday, October 18 at 2pm. This research can be housed in an institutional repository, an open access journal, or in some cases, both. Sprague Library encourages our researchers to deposit their scholarly works in our university\u2019s institutional repository, <a href=\"https:\/\/digitalcommons.montclair.edu\/\">ÌÇÐÄvlog Digital Commons<\/a>.
