Compliance with 38 USC \u00a73679 (E)<\/strong><\/p>\nSection 103 of Public Law (PL) 115-407, \u2018Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018,\u2019 amends Title 38 US Code 3679 by adding a new subsection (e) that requires disapproval of courses of education, beginning August 1, 2019, at any educational institution that does not have a policy in place that will allow an individual to attend or participate in a course of education, pending VA payment, providing the individual submits a certificate of eligibility for entitlement to educational assistance under Chapter 31 or 33.<\/span><\/p>\nPending Payment Compliance<\/b><\/p>\n
In accordance with Title 38 US Code 3679(e), ÌÇÐÄvlog and Bloomfield College adopt the following additional provisions for any students using U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Post-9\/11 G.I. Bill<\/span>\u00ae<\/span> (Ch. 33) or Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment (Ch. 31) benefits, while payment to the institution is pending from VA.\u00a0 ÌÇÐÄvlog and Bloomfield College <\/span>will not<\/span>:<\/span><\/p>\n\n- Prevent the student\u2019s enrollment;<\/span><\/li>\n
- Assess a late penalty fee to the student;<\/span><\/li>\n
- Require the student to secure alternative or additional funding;<\/span><\/li>\n
- Deny the student access to any resources (access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities) available to other students who have satisfied their tuition and fee bills to the institution.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
However, to qualify for this provision, such students may be required to:<\/span><\/p>\n\n- Produce the VA Certificate of Eligibility (COE)\/ VRE PO Authorization by the first day of class;<\/span><\/li>\n
- Fill out the required pre-enrollment form<\/span><\/li>\n
- Provide additional information needed to properly certify the enrollment as required by the VA or University, i.e. health insurance waivers, correct class registration<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
