A new academic agreement between ÌÇÐÄvlog and Hudson County Community College (HCCC)<\/a> will allow associate degree students to plan their total baccalaureate experience at the beginning of their college career and seamlessly transfer into corresponding bachelor\u2019s degree programs at the University.<\/p>\n

Signed last month at the HCCC campus in Jersey City, the agreement, which is effective for the fall 2022 semester, builds upon the spirit of the Lampitt Law and Montclair\u2019s Dual Enrollment\/Automatic Transfer Agreement by guaranteeing admission to those who meet designated criteria and offering HCCC graduates a clear path to continuing their journey in higher education.<\/p>\n

Hudson County Community College, which offers its academic programming to some of the most diverse communities in the state, shares a Hispanic-Serving Institution designation with Montclair<\/a>. The school\u2019s enrollment in fall 2021 was 6,776, with 78% of the student body identifying as minority.<\/p>\n

Hudson students transferring to Montclair must be in good academic standing and have the minimum GPA required for their program of study. The students must also go through Montclair\u2019s transfer process and meet all requirements and deadlines pertaining to the application for admission.<\/p>\n

“The expansion of Montclair’s partnership with Hudson County Community College furthers the University’s commitment to excellence and to providing affordable, accessible options for students to earn a degree,” says Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Junius Gonzales. “We look forward to welcoming additional Hudson students and providing them with the resources and support needed for them to thrive both at Montclair and after graduation.”<\/p>\n

This agreement further opens the doors for HCCC students to pursue direct pathways to attain their baccalaureate degrees,\u201d says HCCC President Christopher M. Reber. \u201cThey will be counseled on program-specific requirements, reverse transfer options, admissions procedures, financial aid, and other matters that will ultimately save them time and money.\u201d<\/p>\n
