You will be required to log into your <a href=\"https:\/\/montclair.edu\/nest\">NEST<\/a> Account to access your <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Orientation Portal. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>After successfully logging into the Orientation Portal, a task list will appear with action items that must be completed in order to see your assigned Orientation session.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div> <div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">How do I know which Orientation I need to attend&quest;<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<h3>You Will Be Assigned An Orientation Date Based On<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Whether you are a\u00a0<strong>First-Time Freshman <\/strong>or a\u00a0<strong>Transfer student<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Whether you are a <strong>Resident<\/strong> or <strong>Commuter student.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you run into trouble with the Orientation Portal, please contact Orientation Programs at <a href=\"mailto:orientation@montclair.edu\">orientation@montclair.edu<\/a> or call 973-655-4162.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">I am having trouble accessing the Orientation Portal<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p>If you are receiving error messages, please first try restarting your browser or opening a new window. If you continue to experience issues please email <span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"mailto:orientation@montclair.edu\">orientation@montclair.edu<\/a><\/span> with the following information:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Student Name<\/li>\n<li>Student Campus-Wide ID<\/li>\n<li>The device you are using to sign in (phone, laptop, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Which browser you are using to sign in<\/li>\n<li>The system error message you are receiving (screenshots help!)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Our team will begin to troubleshoot the issue and get back to you shortly to help you get registered for your orientation sessions.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">When is Orientation&quest;<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>Orientation takes place between August 21 &#8211; 30.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Is Orientation Mandatory&quest;<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p><strong>Orientation is mandatory if you meet the following criteria:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You are an <strong>undergraduate student<\/strong>.*\n<ul>\n<li>Graduate students do not have this requirement. If you are a graduate student, please refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/graduate-students\/new-student-checklist\/?wp_logged_in=true\">Graduate School New Student Checklist<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>*Exceptions: Adult learner students (ages 25 and up), exchange program students and readmitted students are not required to complete Orientation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>You are a <strong>student attending classes on-campus<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>Students in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/online\">ÌÇÐÄvlog<\/a> program do not have this requirement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">What Should I Do if the Major Listed on My Orientation Reservation Does Not Match My Intended Major for Fall 2025&quest;<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p>If you are planning on changing majors prior to attending your Orientation session, fill out the Undergraduate Admissions\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/apply.montclair.edu\/register\/majorchange2023\">Major Change Request Form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Once you have completed the Major Change Request Form, please allow up to 72 hours for these changes to reflect in your Orientation Portal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Non-degree-seeking students must also contact Undergraduate Admissions if they wish to become degree-seeking students.<\/p>\n<p>Contact Undergraduate Admissions by email <a href=\"mailto:msuadm@montclair.edu\">msuadm@montclair.edu<\/a> or call 973-655-4444.<\/p>\n<p>In order to see the correct dates available for your specific major, contact Orientation Programs at <a href=\"mailto:orientation@montclair.edu\">orientation@montclair.edu<\/a> or call 973-655-4162.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">What Should I Do if I Plan to Live On-Campus for Fall 2025&comma; but I Am Listed as a Commuting Student on My Orientation Reservation&quest;<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p>Students are listed as a <strong>\u201cCommuter\u201d<\/strong> if they have not paid a Housing Enrollment Fee.<\/p>\n<p>Pay the<strong> $300.00 Housing Application Fee<\/strong> online through <a href=\"https:\/\/montclair.edu\/nest\">NEST<\/a> or in person at the Office of Student Accounts. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/red-hawk-central\/bills-payment\/payment-options\/\">Learn More About Payment Information.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Contact Residence Life by email at <a href=\"mailto:reslife@montclair.edu\">reslife@montclair.edu<\/a> or call 973-655-5188.<\/p>\n<p>In order to see the correct dates available for residential students, contact Orientation Programs at <a href=\"mailto:orientation@montclair.edu\">orientation@montclair.edu<\/a> or call 973-655-4162.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Can My Family Members Attend Orientation&quest;<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p>Your family members are a welcome addition to the Red Hawk community! While <strong>Ready to Soar<\/strong> is designed for students only, family members are encouraged to participate in the following <strong>Family Orientation<\/strong> activities.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>In-Person Family Orientation:<\/strong> <\/span><span style=\"color: #333333\">A one-day, Orientation Program designed for families and supporters of our newest Red Hawks! In-Person Family Orientation will be held the same day and time as New Student Orientation Day. Space is limited.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>Please note:<\/strong> During the first half of the Orientation Program, families will be seated with their student for speakers and sessions. During the <\/span><span style=\"color: #333333\">second half of the program, families will be brought to a separate auditorium for the Family Orientation, while students meet with their academic advisors. Students and family members will reunite at the information fair at the conclusion of the program.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<span class=\"prpl-button\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/orientation\/family-orientation\/\">Learn More About Family Orientation<\/a><\/span>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">How Do I Register a Family Member for Family Orientation&quest;<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p>Log in to <a href=\"https:\/\/montclair.edu\/nest\">NEST<\/a> and access your Orientation Portal.<\/p>\n<p>Complete the Family Information item on your Task List.<\/p>\n<p>Starting July 7, 2025, you will be able to add the family member you listed to your Orientation reservation.<\/p>\n<p>Please note: The Family Orientation fee is <strong>$35.00 per guest<\/strong>.
