Phish files<\/strong> is your campus hub for spotting email scams! It showcases real phishing emails, tricks to watch for, and tips to stay safe\u2014helping you avoid falling for fake links or shady requests. Stay alert, stay secure!<\/p>\n

Phishing<\/strong> emails are fake messages that try to trick you into sharing personal information, like passwords or financial details. They often look legitimate\u2014posing as your school, a professor, or a trusted company\u2014but usually include suspicious links or urgent requests.<\/p>\n

Fraud<\/strong> emails are scams designed to trick you into giving away money, personal info, or both. They might promise scholarships, a big prize, a job offer, or appear to be from someone you trust. If an email seems too good to be true it\u2019s probably a scam\u2014delete it and stay safe!<\/p>\n

Spear phishing<\/strong> emails are phishing emails that target you specifically, often using personal details like your name or school to seem legitimate. These emails may seem to be from a colleague, professor, friend, or trusted organization to trick you into sharing sensitive information or clicking malicious links.<\/p>\n

Smishing (SMS)<\/strong> is like phishing but over text messages. Scammers send fake texts pretending to be your bank, school, or a trusted company to trick you into clicking links or sharing personal information. If a text seems sketchy, don\u2019t click\u2014block the number and stay safe!<\/p>\n

Virus<\/strong> emails are those that come with attachments that can infect your machine, or those with links that lead to dangerous software downloads. These could make your computer stop working or steal personal information from your machine.<\/p>\n<\/div>
