This is a tactic to bypass school security filters.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6,2,0\"><strong>Inappropriate Questions: <\/strong>A legitimate job application will <strong>never<\/strong> ask for your bank\u2019s mobile deposit limit or your gender and age on an initial form.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6,3,0\"><strong>Form Use: <\/strong>Real university jobs are processed through official HR portals, not generic Google Forms or suspicious external links.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Information the Scammer is After<\/h3>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"10\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10,0,0\"><strong>Personal Identity:<\/strong> Full Name, Age, Gender, and Address.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10,1,0\"><strong>Financial Access:<\/strong> Your bank name and Mobile Deposit Limit. (This is a huge red flag\u2014they ask this so they can send you a &#8220;fake check&#8221; and have you send them back &#8220;change&#8221; before the bank realizes the check is forged).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10,2,0\"><strong>Direct Contact:<\/strong> Your cell phone number, used to move the scam to text\/WhatsApp where it is harder for IT to track.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>All Montclair job offers are available directly through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/career-services\/handshake\/\">Handshake<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-path-to-node=\"10\">Immediate Steps to Take<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"13,0,0\"><strong>Do Not Click: <\/strong>Avoid clicking any links or copying\/pasting the URL.<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"13,0,0\"><strong>Report the Email:<\/strong> Use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/information-technology\/security\/pab\/\">Phish Alert Button (PAB)<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-path-to-node=\"12\">If You Already Clicked or Entered Credentials<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"16,0,0\"><strong>Contact Your Bank: <\/strong>If you provided your bank name or deposit limits, alert your bank\u2019s fraud department immediately.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"16,1,0\"><strong>Secure Your Identity: <\/strong>Since you provided your address and phone number, be on high alert for increased spam, &#8220;verification&#8221; texts, or suspicious mail.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"16,2,0\"><strong>Change Passwords:<\/strong> If you provided your Montclair or personal email password, change them across all platforms immediately.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"16,3,0\"><strong>Cease Communication: <\/strong>If the scammers text or email you from a new address, do not respond.
