All first-year students are required to meet with their advisors to discuss and approve course selections prior to registration for their second and third terms of study.

Students who have been admitted to a major will meet with an advisor in the appropriate academic department. Students who have not declared a major will meet with an advisor in University College (Montclair students) or the Center for Student Success (Bloomfield students). Students in special programs will meet with their special program advisor and, if applicable, their faculty or department advisor.
