Profile
Christy Randazzo is Affiliate Faculty for the Departments of Religion and Humanities at 糖心vlog, as well as at Earlham School of Religion (a Quaker seminary in Indiana). Dr. Randazzo is a skilled educator with experience teaching across a wide range of of ages, venues, and topics, including: religious peacemaking, Christian peace and justice theology, Christian ecotheology, theologies of space and place, Biblical studies, religious literacy, K-12 education, as well as a decade spent developing curricula for education and spiritual development in religious communities. This work continues in Randazzo's work as an editor for the Political Theology Network's Politics of Scripture project, which explores the intersections of Jewish and Christian scripture with the concerns of political theology.
Much of Dr. Randazzo's work has been focused on reconciling conflict within religious communities. This includes work as a minister for youth and young adults in Christian communities experiencing division as well as research on theologies of peacemaking and reconciliation. Randazzo holds an MPhil from Trinity College Dublin in Conflict Transformation, where they studied the causes and theological justifications of ethno-religious conflict. Randazzo also holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham (UK) in Quaker Studies. Their first book, Liberal Quaker Reconciliation Theology: A Constructive Approach (Brill, 2020) stems from their doctoral work, and was the first major work exploring the connection between Christian reconciliation theology and Quaker theology. Reflecting this continued emphasis, Randazzo teaches courses on building faith communities centred on justice, reconciliation, and peacemaking at Earlham School of Religion.
Dr. Randazzo's recent research focuses on theologies of environmental sustainability and ecology, with a particular focus on developing Quaker ecotheology. Their most recent publication, titled Divine Ecosystem: A Quaker Theology (Fortress Press, 2025), establishes the foundations of a uniquely Quaker ecotheology, bringing Christian systematic theology, Quaker theology, and ecotheology into conversation, with the intent of developing a uniquely Quaker systematic ecotheology.
Their next publication, titled Everyday Ministry: Lives That Speak (under contract with Fortress Press) will develop a metaphorical and practical framework for explaining the structure, purpose, and meaning of ministry within Quaker communities. This book will explore the numerous consequences for ecclesiology, sacramental theology, practical theology, and pastoral ministry of the Quaker emphasis on both a flat hierarchy as well as a vision of ministry that is both universal (i.e. applies to any and all Quakers) and particular to each individual person.
