{"id":926,"date":"2019-11-22T14:47:40","date_gmt":"2019-11-22T19:47:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/pseg-sustainability-institute\/?p=926"},"modified":"2024-01-03T12:54:50","modified_gmt":"2024-01-03T17:54:50","slug":"going-green","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/pseg-sustainability-institute\/2019\/11\/22\/going-green\/","title":{"rendered":"Going Green"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The PSEG Institute for Sustainability Studies\u2019 \u201cGreen Teams\u201d took their message global this summer, advocating for communities and industries to adapt greener solutions \u2013 connecting to science at Princeton\u2019s Plasma Physics Lab, joining sustainability initiatives at the United Nations, and digging in at the grassroots level in a city park.<\/p>\n<p>At the Green Teams\u2019 final presentations, Rick Thigpen, senior vice president at PSEG, praised the interns\u2019 work to create sustainable, livable and resilient communities and industries.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>You recognize this as a global problem and a profound problem. Preaching the gospel of sustainability is something to be proud of. It really is serious business.<\/p>\n<footer><cite>Rick Thigpen<\/cite><\/footer>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Green Teams program is based at Montclair State, where the PSEG Institute for Sustainability Studies supports research and community projects, including climate change in New Jersey, and energy and water studies globally. It has been a key platform for launching students into internships, green jobs and graduate programs.<\/p>\n<p>Community partners sponsor teams of undergraduates who provide research, analysis and marketing to shift corporate culture.
