Donate toiletry items and receive a credit toward one outstanding parking citation.

• Each item = $10 credit
• Example: A $50 citation can be resolved with 5 donated items
• Limit: One citation dismissal per student

The following citations cannot be dismissed through this program:

• Faculty or staff lot violations
• Tampering with University equipment
• Shared permit or boot violations
• Parking in reserved spaces, grass or sidewalks
• Fire lane or PWD space violations

Keep Vehicles Off Surface Lots

To allow our facilities team to remove snow from the surface lots, all cars must be moved and remain in the designated parking areas until 8 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25. Normal parking rules will resume at 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

Montclair Campus

Vehicles on the Montclair campus must be moved from surface parking lots to either the Red Hawk Parking Deck or the CarParc Diem Parking Deck.

Bloomfield Campus

Bloomfield Campus students parking in Lot B1 must park on the eastern side of the lot in the area designated for snow removal parking.

• Use caution when walking or driving. Surfaces may be slippery.

Drive Safely on Campus!

Be sure to follow all speed limits on campus and be mindful of pedestrians – they have the right away. When dropping off a passenger, pull into an adjacent parking lot or designated drop off areas along College Avenue that have curbing designed to pull in off the roadway, don’t clog the roads! And finally, for safety reasons, please remember that personal electric vehicles cannot be stored in University buildings. Learn More!

Mobile Camera Towers in Use for Traffic Study

In an effort to help identify traffic patterns and aid in the access and exits to and from campus, the University is deploying two mobile camera towers.

• The two cameras will be located at the intersection of College Avenue and Carlisle Road and in Lot 8.
• The limited traffic and transportation study will run through September with a focus on vehicular and pedestrian circulation patterns in these high-traffic areas.

Montclair is situated between two train stations and is served by multiple bus lines, making public transit an easy and environmentally-friendly choice.

All full-time undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to receive a rail, bus or light rail monthly pass at 25% off of the regular monthly pass price, when you enroll online through NJ TRANSIT’s Quik-Tik program.

From now through Friday, May 30, the University will be operating on our normal Monday – Friday schedule, with a few changes in hours for various departments. View All Summer Hours of Operation. Beginning Monday, June 2, the University will be closed on Fridays through the week of August 8. The University will be closed on July 4 for Independence Day and Juneteenth will be observed on Friday, June 20. For both dates there will be no classes held. We will kick things back off this fall on Friday, August 29 which will follow a Monday class schedule.

• Summer permits are valid from May 1, 2025 through August 28, 2025.
• Permits are issued based on enrollment status and student classification, using information provided by the Office of the Registrar.
• Students enrolled in Summer Session courses may purchase:
  • General/Commuter Permit: $25.00 (plus tax)
  • Red Hawk Deck Permit: $50.00 (plus tax)
• Students not enrolled in summer classes but planning to park on campus may purchase a General/Commuter permit for $25.00 (plus tax).
• Students who held an Academic Year 2024–2025 permit, including NJ Transit permit holders, must purchase a summer permit to park on campus during the summer months.

Montclair Campus

• If you reside on the Montclair campus and plan to head home for the weekend, move your car to CarParc Diem before you leave campus today, Friday, February 15.
• CarParc Diem will be open for residents through Monday, February 17.
• NJ Transit permit holders must park in the NJ Transit Deck. This deck is also available to other residents as a pay-on-your-own option.
• Red Hawk Deck is open to permit holders, faculty and staff.

Bloomfield Campus

• If you reside on the Bloomfield campus, please relocate your vehicle to the 225 Liberty Street parking lot on the east end alongside the fence—signs are posted to indicate “Park Here for Snow.” All other lots should be emptied.
• CarParc Diem is an available option for Bloomfield residents for the week as well, but shuttle service may be affected, limiting regular access to the Montclair campus.

The top levels of both parking decks will remain closed due to frequent participation and freezing temperatures.

Student Center Closure Sunday, January 19.

The Student Center will close at 6:30 p.m. tonight, Sunday, January 19. As a result, 1908 Pizzeria/Pub will also close at 6 p.m. Please plan accordingly if you need access to these spaces. Shuttle updates below.

MLK Day of Service

The MLK Day of Service has been rescheduled to Saturday, January 25, 2025. Continue to check emails and social media for further updates.

Relocate Vehicles to Parking Decks

Vehicles on campus must be moved from surface parking lots to either the Red Hawk Parking Deck or and CarParc Diem Parking Deck by 12 p.m., Sunday, January 19. This will allow for snow removal from the surface lots. Vehicles may be returned to surface lots at 12 p.m., Monday, January 20.

Moving vehicles will ensure that snow removal can be conducted more effectively, and help maintain campus accessibility and safety during this challenging weather event and prepare for Tuesday classes and normal University operations. Parked vehicles in surface lots interfere with the efficiency of snow removal and may cause further delays or complications, especially as temperatures fall sharply in the days after the storm.

Should the storm system change or increase in intensity and further plowing is necessary, time changes will be announced.

Please Note: The top levels of both the Red Hawk Deck and CarParc Diem may be subject to closures for snow and ice removal.

Shuttle Service

Shuttle Service Update: Due to higher snow totals predicted, shuttles will run until 7 p.m. tonight, Sunday January 19. This adjustment allows our staff to plow and prepare for tomorrow’s anticipated cold temperatures. Shuttle service will resume at 8 a.m. tomorrow, Monday, January 20.

Clove Road Residents: If you plan to have dinner on campus and need shuttle service, please plan to travel soon while the shuttle is still running.

On Monday, January 20, Shuttle Services will operate on a limited service schedule from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. on the All Campus and Bloomfield routes only. No Shuttle Service from Montclair Heights Train Station. All Services will resume Tuesday, January 21.
