The Fulbright Program has provided approximately 318,000 participants\u2014chosen for their academic merit and leadership potential \u2014 with the opportunity to<br \/>\nstudy, teach and conduct research, exchange ideas and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns.<\/p>\n<div class=\"m_-8309623128954384741moz-forward-container\">\n<h3>Fulbright Awards<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"m_-8309623128954384741moz-forward-container\">\n<p><strong>The Fulbright U.S. Student Program Study\/Research Award<\/strong>\u00a0grants scholarships to U.S.<br \/>\ngraduating seniors, graduate students, young professionals, scientists and artists selected through a<br \/>\nnational, merit-based competition for study and research abroad. Academic fields include the social<br \/>\nsciences, humanities, arts and the sciences. The Program emphasizes leadership development.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"m_-8309623128954384741moz-forward-container\">\n<p><strong>The Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) Program<\/strong>\u00a0places U.S. students, primarily new<br \/>\ncollege graduates, as English teaching assistants in schools or universities overseas, where they<br \/>\nincrease foreign students\u2019 English language abilities and knowledge of the United States. They are<br \/>\nintegrated in the host community, which improves their own foreign language skills and knowledge of<br \/>\nthe host country.
