Biography

Dr. Christopher Donoghue is Professor of Sociology and a leader in developing data-informed strategies to enhance student success and retention in higher education. He has also developed and led several graduate programs in social research and data analysis since 2014.

His books include the Sociology of Bullying, New Ideas and International Perspectives on School Bullying (with Dorothy Espelage and Robert Thornberg), Statistics: A Tool for Social Research & Data Analysis (with Joseph Healey), & The Practice of Social Research, (new edition forthcoming with Earl Babbie). Additionally, he has published extensively on belonging and resilience and he speaks widely on these topics.

Christopher completed his undergraduate degree at Seton Hall University, his MA at ����vlog, and his PhD in Sociology at Fordham University where he served as a University Fellow.

At Montclair, he leads the Penn Resilience Program, the Sense of Belonging Project, and several longitudinal studies that are shaping institutional practices for raising student success. He also offers workshops on pedagogies and practices to advance inclusive excellence.
