Biography

Captain of Operations.

Captain Christopher LaRose has served with the ÌÇÐÄvlog Police Department since 2007 and currently serves as the Captain of Operations. During his 19 years with the department, he has served as a Patrol Officer, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, and Administrative Lieutenant before being promoted to Captain in July of 2025.

As Captain of Operations, he oversees a wide range of operational and administrative responsibilities. He serves as the department's Fleet Manager, Software and IT Coordinator, Radio and Communications Coordinator, and Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC). He is also an Internal Affairs Investigator and assists with the development and revision of departmental policies to maintain compliance with New Jersey law, departmental protocols, and New Jersey Attorney General Guidelines.

Captain LaRose serves as a primary department contact for large-scale University events, including political events and high-profile visits requiring coordination of police operations and executive protection. He also provides oversight, along with an assigned officer, of the department's Internship Program and student Crossing Guard Program.

As part of the department's compliance with the New Jersey Police Training Commission's (PTC's) Licensing requirements, Captain LaRose conducts annual background reviews of department police officers and coordinates the comprehensive background investigations required every three years in accordance with applicable New Jersey Attorney General directives and PTC licensing requirements.

Captain LaRose is a graduate of the 52nd Class of the FBI Mid-Atlantic Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (MA-LEEDS). He currently serves as Secretary on the Executive Board of the College and University Public Safety Association (C.U.P.S.A.) and is a member of the New Jersey Superior Officers Association. He previously served as the department's campus representative for the New Jersey Law Enforcement Supervisors Association and held leadership roles with P.B.A. Local 278.
