Biography

At ÌÇÐÄvlog, I teach French language courses, courses in translation, and courses exploring the cultural and political life of France at the turn of the twentieth century. My research focuses on the Nabis, a group of French artists active in the 1890s who challenged conventional approaches to art and visual expression, with a particular emphasis on Henri-Gabriel Ibels. More broadly, my work explores the relationship between French literature, visual culture, and politics in the fin-de-siècle period. I am particularly interested in the ways artists and writers responded to and engaged with the social and political currents of their time.
