Biography
Bonjour ! And welcome to my page! My name is James Doughty and I am success story for Montclair’s brilliant French department. I’m an alumnus, and did French civilization and translation as well as political science whilst at Montclair.
Currently, I am an adjunct doing beginning and intermediate online French classes. The same classes I took as a beginner!
I live in Bordeaux, France where I pursued my masters in political science and doctorate in political philosophy. Currently, I teach comparative law and French, as well as being a certified tour guide.

Research
I specialize in western political philosophy, notably on American Pragmatism and comparing different western political ideologies from country to country. I have been living in the south west of France since 2011, and have a insider’s insight to contemporary French and European issues.
