Biography

Jimena Caratti has been teaching since 2005. She has 21 years of face-to-face teaching experience, and over 10 years of online teaching experience. Jimena Caratti has been an adjunct professor in the Department of Global Cultural Studies at ÌÇÐÄvlog since 2016. She has taught Spanish at various levels and in a variety of instructional settings, both in person and online. In addition, she has collaborated with other faculty members in the Department on online Spanish courses for specific purposes, including Spanish for Healthcare Professionals 105, 106, and 107.

Professor Caratti is originally from Mendoza, Argentina, where she was born and raised. From an early age, she developed a strong passion for learning and teaching, which led her to pursue a career in education. She holds a Master’s degree in Foreign Languages from West Virginia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the National University of Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina. She was also a Fulbright Scholar through the Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program at Castleton University in Vermont during the 2008–2009 academic year. In 2011, while serving as a graduate teaching assistant at West Virginia University, she also co-coordinated a study abroad program in Santander, Spain.

Her professional background is diverse, with teaching experience in a wide range of educational settings. She has taught face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses. She has taught TESOL at several high schools in Argentina, language academies, and multinational companies. She has also taught Spanish at several universities across different states in the United States.

Professor Caratti currently lives in Secaucus, New Jersey, with her husband, Zachary, and their two daughters, Sophia and Lucía. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, reading, practicing yoga, and traveling.
