Biography

Joaly García is a Lecturer and Spanish Language Program Coordinator at ÌÇÐÄvlog with 20 years of experience in higher education. Her work focuses on Spanish language education, curriculum development, and the integration of educational technology and AI-enhanced language learning to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences across face-to-face, online, and asynchronous environments.

Prior to joining Montclair State, Professor García worked as an instructional designer for Canadian companies, developing innovative training programs for Spanish-speaking professionals and communities. Her background in instructional design continues to shape her approach to language teaching, digital learning, and curriculum development.

Professor García has completed the Penn Resilience Program Train-the-Trainer Course through the University of Pennsylvania, expanding her work to include evidence-based strategies that support student resilience, engagement, and academic success.

García's research interests focus on the intersection of language learning and educational technology. Her passion for helping students acquire language skills has led her to develop innovative teaching methods that combine traditional approaches with cutting-edge technologies. Her cultural sensitivity and student-centered approach foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment. 

Beyond academia, García has served as a volunteer Social Media Coordinator and Community Liaison for Latincouver, contributing to initiatives that support and connect Latin American communities in Canada.
