Biography

Dr. Jongho Moon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology within the College for Community Health at ÌÇÐÄvlog. His teaching and scholarship are grounded in health and physical education teacher education, with experience delivering a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses across diverse instructional formats. Dr. Moon’s research centers on the Whole-of-School approach to physical activity promotion, with particular attention to how schools can systematically create and sustain opportunities for children and adolescents to engage in physical activity while advancing educational, health, and developmental outcomes. Dr. Moon has expanded his research agenda to encompass technology-enhanced teacher education, with a focus on immersive technologies and simulation-based learning. His current scholarship investigates how virtual and mixed reality environments can enhance preservice teachers’ pedagogical learning and professional preparation by providing immersive, practice-oriented opportunities. Dr. Moon’s work has received recognition from professional and academic organizations, including the Innovative Paper Award from the CSPAP Special Interest Group of SHAPE America, Emerging Scholar by the Learning Policy Institute’s EdPrepLab Network, and Wiley Top Cited Article recognition. As a member of the Active Schools Research Alliance, he collaborates with multidisciplinary scholars across institutions nationwide to advance research and practice in school-based physical activity promotion.
