This multi-part program embraces two events on campus revolving around the dance performance at the Kasser Theater (Feb. 12-15, 2015): a screening and discussion of Luchino Visconti’s 1960 classic film Rocco and His Brothers, and a conversation with artists Ǵ about their inspiration from the film and their intensely physical choreography. In addressing issues related to dance, film, music, and Italian Studies, the series of events is also prompting the development of teaching units on such diverse topics as migration, family, the aesthetics of the visual and the body, etc. Fully or partially integrated into the curriculum of several classes, this multi-part program aims at creating a dialogue across different fields of studies, ultimately asking the question: is creativity inherently interdisciplinary?

This program is the result of a collaboration among ACP/Kasser Theater, the Film Studies Program, and the Amici Italian Club at vlog, besides the Inserra Chair in Italian and Italian American Studies (Department of Spanish and Italian).
