What’s most important is that you feel good about the work you are presenting. Ideally, your videos allow us to see and hear you clearly so your individuality and unique talents shine through your submission. Below you will find some suggestions for crafting your prescreen video. However, invest your time and effort in the work itself rather than external factors like the perfect background or expensive lighting. Steps For Auditioning for BFA Musical Theatre
Step 1: Find an audition day/ location and submit your prescreen materials
-You will not receive your prescreen results unless the $65 audition fee is paid in the audition portal
-You can find prescreen requirements
Step 2: Apply to the university HERE
-There is a $65 application fee in addition to the aforementioned audition fee
Step 3: Attend a live audition either in-person or virtually
-The live audition is by invitation only after faculty review of prescreen material
-You can find all of our audition dates, including partner organizations

Admission to BFA Dance
To be considered for admission to the BFA/BA DANCE MAJOR, students should first submit an online application to ÌÇÐÄvlog, then proceed to the Audition Preparation section of this website for audition guidelines.
The University application will request the documents below from all dance applicants:
- $65 Application fee
- $65 Audition fee
- Transcripts
- Resume of dance experience
- Personal Statement
- Full body dance pose of any kind showing line, form, and expression
- Two letters of recommendation
* One from an academic teacher
* One from a dance professional - Please have the dance professional email the letter to msuadm@montclair.edu so it can be uploaded to your portal. Include Subject: Dance Recommendation/Candidate Name.
