Talent-based Performing Arts Award

Students who are accepted into select performing arts programs may be considered for a talent-based scholarship, awarded by the faculty in recognition of an exceptional audition. These scholarships are open to in-state, out-of-state and international students, and are applied directly to your educational costs. Please note that they can’t be exchanged for cash, and recipients must remain enrolled in the performing arts program to which they were admitted.

If you complete your degree in fewer than eight semesters, the remaining funds simply won’t be used. The scholarship amount may be adjusted if your residency or enrollment status changes, and it will be offered in addition to any other merit-based scholarships you receive.

Additional Scholarship Opportunities

Each year, several Colleges, Schools and campus organizations also offer unique scholarship opportunities for which you may be eligible.

Montclair's Student Government Association awards more than $30,000 in scholarships during each academic year, and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences offers scholarships in programs including English, Psychology and more.

The award amount may be adjusted or canceled if your residency or enrollment status changes, or if the total of all federal, state, and other grants or scholarships exceeds the total cost of direct expenses.

After applying to Montclair, students must submit their PTK Certification through the admissions portal or directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at transfermsu@montclair.edu.

Scholarships must be awarded before the start of your first semester at Montclair. Awards are applied to direct costs only, including tuition, fees, and room and board, and have no cash value. If other forms of gift aid cover direct costs, the scholarship amount may be reduced.
