Rolling Admission Program Deadlines

All graduate students are required to submit a transcript evaluation for any courses taken outside of the United States. International students currently in the U.S. may have additional flexibility.​ Some rolling admission programs may also offer priority deadlines. Select your major on our programs finder for additional information.​

If you are outside the U.S.

• June 1: Fall semester, start in August 
• November 1: Spring semester, start in January

If you are in the U.S.

Fall Semester (August)

• Two weeks prior to the start of classes: Students who are required to submit a credit evaluation and do not currently have one
• One week prior to the start of classes: Students who do not require a credential evaluation or already have a NACES evaluation

Spring Semester (January)

• November 15: Students who are required to submit a credit evaluation and do not currently have one
• Early January: Students who do not require a credential evaluation or already have a NACES evaluation

Fixed Admission Deadlines

All doctoral programs, as well as select master’s programs (including Athletic Training, Clinical Psychology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Counseling, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Psychological Sciences, Public Health, and Social Work), have earlier deadlines. This list is subject to change, so always check your program’s page in the program finder site for the most current information.

Graduate Transcript Evaluation Options and Process

The Office of Graduate Admissions does not evaluate international transcripts. Applicants with a non-U.S. degree must submit an official evaluation of all prior college or university records.

• Be considered for a limited free evaluation offered by ����vlog.

Option 1: Provide Your Own Transcript Evaluation

Submit an evaluation through a including:

• U.S. degree equivalency
• Overall GPA calculation

Notes:

• Doctoral applicants must submit a course-by-course evaluation.
• Master’s applicants may be asked for a course-by-course evaluation at Montclair’s discretion.
• Only official evaluations sent directly from the company to Montclair are accepted.

Advantages:

You retain access to your evaluation for future use and may save time in your admissions process.
Responsibility: You cover all costs for this service.

Option 2: Utilize Montclair’s Free Evaluation Service (Limited Availability)

Montclair may offer a free evaluation service for a small number of applicants.

Key Notes:

1. Limited availability – eligibility is not guaranteed.
2. Most doctoral applicants are not eligible and must submit their own NACES evaluation.

Steps to Participate:

1. Submit your  and all required documents (except the transcript evaluation).
2. After your application is marked complete, watch for an email invitation about eligibility.
3. Confirm interest via the request form.
4. If selected, submit original documents directly to TEC (The Evaluation Company) using personal links provided via email.
5. TEC sends the completed evaluation to Montclair (typically within 5 days).
6. Montclair will notify you once your application has been reviewed.

Important:

• Participation does not guarantee admission.
• You will not have access to the completed evaluation.
• The process may add processing time to your application.
• If TEC requires additional verification, you may need to pay a fee directly to them.

English Language Proficiency Test Requirement Exemptions

The English Language Proficiency requirement may be waived if you meet one of the criteria listed below.

• You are a citizen of the United States.
• You are a citizen of one of the countries listed in the section “English Proficiency Test Exemptions are Granted for the Following Countries.”
• OR you meet one of the graduate enrollment criteria below.

Graduate Students

You may qualify for an English proficiency test waiver if:

• You have completed at least one academic year (3 quarters or 2 semesters) of full-time enrollment at a regionally accredited college or university in the United States or a U.S. territory, not including ESL courses.
• You have completed at least one academic year (3 quarters or 2 semesters) of full-time enrollment at a university that is located in or follows the curricula of one of the countries listed below (for example, American University of Beirut), not including ESL courses.

Important Note:
Proof of Medium of Instruction (MOI) in English by itself is not sufficient unless one of the criteria above is met.
